Webinar

The other night I attended a Webinar (from the comforts of my comfy couch) and learned many a new things regarding social networking time management. Handmadeology University offered a online webinar focusing on how people are using free social media tools to promote their products on Etsy. It was a little over an hour long and very interesting, I learned things about Facebook that I had no idea existed. And Twitter, it is endless what you can do with this tool. I increased my followers in just a few days and it is still building. Check out the Handmadeology Blogsite it is overflowing with great information. http://handmadeology.biz/home

Veterans Day

Heroes Die for Me
by Jamie Burns

I am the flag
I look down upon this land called America .
I have been here since this great nation was formed,
I have seen each battle fought
I have seen the heroes die for me, for my country

Thank you all those of you
Who have kept me flying in the breeze
Keeping this country united as one.
Thank you those of you who have sacrificed your lives,
Giving up all that I may still fly,
Watching over the citizens of this nation.
Thank you all those of you who have ever fought,
I am ever grateful for you.

You risked everything; you faced death each day,
Faced fear, faced many terrible things.
And because of you, my thank you's ring out,
Filling the sky, echoing from the hills
They find their way to the graveyards,
And to all of you still living,
You are a special kind of person.
To anyone who has ever served this country,
And to those serving today
Thank you.

As I watch life from atop my flagpole,
As I think of all you've done,
My feelings become too powerful for words
And all I can say is thank you.

I found this poem on this website http://www.fifeschools.com/cjh/news/newsitems/VeteransDayPoems.htm
along with many others they were written by school kids and really send the
message of what today means to all of us!

Keep on Keeping on...

Well we are at the end of another work week. I dont know about the rest of you but I am ready for the weekend!

The Holiday Boutique started yesterday, I will have to stop by today to see if any of my jewelry sold (fingers crossed). We have a beautiful weekend ahead of us, today is suppose to be in the low 60's and sunny and the same for tomorrow. Not sure if that is ideal deer hunting weather, all I know is if I was gonna go walking through the woods I would like warmth and sunshine!!

About a month ago my husband was experiencing some chest pains. A Dr.'s appt. and a stress test later, they determined that he had a blockage. He was scheduled for Angioplasty and they insterted 4 stents. We were told that where the blockage was located, if he were to have had a heart attack he would not have survived. Now a month later he is doing GREAT! He went to a follow up appt. yesterday and the Nurse Practitioner told him that he should be the poster boy for heart patients. He has followed all of his orders (I am pretty strict with him and the foods he eats) and his cholesteral has reduced significantly. I am so proud of him, and I know he feels so much better. All I can think of is that we are so LUCKY and fourtunate that this was caught before it got any worse. So today is a very good day, a day to be thankful!

Well with the weekend fast approaching my thoughts turn to my jewelry table and what to work on...I am thinking of resin. I bought a box of Easy Cast awhile ago and have not taken the plung yet. It intimidates me...so this may be the weekend. Has anyone else just started using resin? Let me know how it went for you....I will keep you posted on my progress.

Happy Friday everyone!!!

Well the Yankees pulled it off. They won their 27th World Series! I wanted to see the Phillies win it, just because Tori Hunter is on their team and he played for the Minnesota Twins, one of the best outfielders we have had.

Well the First Annual Holiday Boutique starts today. I have a little corner at the boutique with my jewelry on display. It is two big weekends. November 5,6,7 and November 12,13,14th. I am hoping for lots of traffic and lots of jewelry sales. Big shopping weekend coming up this weekend it is Deer Hunting opener. All the husbands go hunting and the women go shopping. The past few years my girlfiends and I go out for dinner, drinks and dancing, we always have such a good time and lots of laughs, so I am looking forward to that.

Well, I better get to work. It is a beautiful sunny day today in Minnesota, a chilly start but it is suppose to warm to the 50s. Enjoy the day! - Trish
